Golden Gate Park photograph album, 1896-1902.

The leather bound albums includes 32 gelatin silver prints documenting Golden Gate Park at the turn of the 20th century. The photographs depict activities including bicycling, polo, and baseball. The buildings include the Conservatory, McLaren Lodge, exterior and interior of the Fine Arts Museum and Sharon Building. The views comprise of the Alvord Lakelet, sand dunes, bison, and various landscaped elements of the park.

Raper J. Waters was a native Californian and began his career as a photographer in Nevada in the 1880s. R.J. Waters opened a commercial photography studio in San Francisco in 1892 at 110 Sutter Street. In 1902 Gabriel Moulin joined R.J. Waters and the business name changed to R.J.
